Luc Yu is a native of Chiayi Taiwan and moved over US in 2003. Prior to US, Luc lived in Singapore, Shanghai and Taipei for years. Currently he is leading US office of FocalTech System, a leading IC design house in San Jose. He has extensive experience in strategic business development and execution in OEM, ODM, EMS and Channel business models.
Luc received a B.S. in Physics from National Tsing Hua University, an MBA from NTU and completed an Executive Management Program from Wharton Business School. Via TAITA, he hopes to devote himself more to Taiwanese community.
Luc and his wife, Vanessa, have two boys, Yan and Ron.

Dr. Chang, born in Chia-Yi, Taiwan, joined Seagate Technology in 2003 from Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a doctorate in materials science. He has a master’s and bachelor’s degree in materials science from National Taiwan University and National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan, respectively. He holds several U.S. patents and has published various papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is a principal engineer at Seagate Technology focusing on the research and development of next-generation technology for data storage.
As a son of Taiwan, Eric always finds time and energy to attend Taiwanese activities here in Silicon Valley and holds on any possible opportunities to contribute Taiwan. In 2014, he became one of the original members established “Connecting.TW”, a non-profit organization focuses on soft-skill workshops and connecting Taiwanese professionals. In 2015, he attended one of the TAITA activities and found his principles match well with Missions of TAITA. He then became a member of TAITA since 2016. He now serves as a treasurer in BOD and would like to form alliances between various Taiwanese organizations in Silicon Valley.

Kevin Hsieh lead the operations, sales, and marketing departments for Candy House Inc, a smart home startup based in Palo Alto, CA. Kevin has over 10 years of experience selling computers, components, cameras, and other electronics through his personal e-commerce store. On weekends, he practices nature and event photography. Kevin’s breadth of experience in the startup world has touched on topics including semiconductors, wireless charging, and internet of things (IoT). He holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from UCI and M.S. in Biomedical Electronics and Informatics from NTU. Kevin has been an active member of TAITA since 2012, and since then has hosted various events including the annual BBQ, seminar, and hiking socials. Mr. Chun Chiu is a Senior Advisor at AsiaTech Management LLC. He has over 30 years of experience in the high tech industry in Silicon Valley. His current interests include assisting entrepreneurs and investors in starting and building successful businesses. One of his most significant successes was to incubate NetScreen Technologies Inc. by forming and shaping the company, raising funds, and building the management team. Mr. Chiu was an angel investor who sat on the Board from the early days of the company and leaving the Board after NetScreen’s initial public offering in late 2001. He started his career as an IC Design Engineer, with involvement in developing the industry’s first single chip calculator and watch in the early 1970s. Subsequently, Mr. Chiu led a team to develop and introduce EPROM products. In 1976, he joined Hewlett-Packard and engaged in the development of personal computer chips. In 1980, Mr. Chiu Co-founded Integrated Device Technology, Inc., where he developed hi-speed, low-power CMOS static RAM, as well as hi-speed DSP chips such as the 16-bit multiplier or accumulator. In 1986, while still at IDT, Mr. Chiu switched tracks from engineering to business and successfully established the Asia-Pacific market, as well as penetrating a tough Japanese market. In 1988, he left IDT and founded Quality Semiconductor Inc. (QSI), where he served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman. Mr. Chiu brought QSI to its IPO in 1994 and eventually merged QSI into IDT in 1999. He is a Member of Advisory Board at Protego Networks Inc. Mr. Chiu is also on the Boards or Advisory Boards at Global Alliance, Inc.; Technology Associates Management Corporation; SOHOWARE, Inc.; SOLUS Networks, Inc.; and Ortega InforSystems, Inc. Chen Wu has been developing technical and market solutions for LED-based applications since 1973. As Founder and President of Leotek Electronics Corp. (光林電子), he was responsible for identifying and developing emerging LED-based applications and the market for Leotek. He founded Leotek in 1993 and led his team through the design and development of many innovative and successful products. Leotek became one of the top three LED-based application companies in North America with a 35% market share both in LED traffic signal light and also in LED street light.
After Leotek was acquired in 2014, Chen became the President of LuxNet Corp. (華星光通), one of the top three leading fiber-optics communication companies in Taiwan. Chen officially retired in early 2016.
Biography
Prior to founding Leotek, Chen Wu was Vice President of Advanced Technology (Taiwan) Corporation and Executive Vice President of Compound Semiconductors, Inc. in California. He began his career at Hewlett-Packard’s Optoelectronics Division in various roles including New LED Material Development Engineer, Project Leader and Project Manager.
Chen obtained his Ph.D. degree in electronic materials from Stanford University, his M.S. degree in Physics from New Mexico Tech, and his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University.
Chen was a member of the American Physical Society, the Northern California Crystal Grower Society, a member of IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) and ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers). He has authored numerous technical publications in the area of opto-electronics and holds 26 patents related to LED applications. In 2008, The Academia Historica in Taiwan (台灣國史館) published a book “The Reminiscences of Chen-ho Wu” for Chen in Taiwan Top People Series 07, describing his contributions as “LED 紅綠燈的傳奇 人物”.

Sandra Lee is a manager in a hospital system with three main medical centers and twelve clinics. She is experienced in hospital administration, clinical operation, data analysis, strategy planning and medical supply chain. She manages all fixed assets in the hospital system from requisition, approval, procurement, purchasing, inventory to retirement. She also provides data analysis for the hospital supply chain operation.
Prior to her current role, she provided ongoing performance evaluations to support hospital operation needs and to meet changing regulatory agencies standards. She maintained budgeting and staffing portfolio for over 1,400 staffs. She was a liaison between clinics, county, state and federal agencies. Prior to relocating to Bay Area, Sandra was a Senior Analyst at Adventist Health corporate office, which owns 20 acute care hospitals across four states in the U.S. She provided analytical and clinical quality improvement decision supports to various departments across the health system.
Sandra is a licensed and registered pharmacist in Taiwan. She practiced in Taipei Veterans General Hospital and a retail pharmacy as a front line pharmacist. She has solid backgrounds and professional skills in pharmacy, hospital management, operation performance evaluations, clinical quality initiative implementation and medical equipment control. Sandra has a M.S. in Clinical Pharmacy from National Cheng Kung University, a M.P.H from Loma Linda University, and a B.S. in Pharmacy from Taipei Medical University. She is certified in Public Health in U.S.
